A concept inspired by a club-like, energetic Mexico City space. For us, this out of the norm menu experience called for a complementary interior space. We looked to eclectic spaces seen in Mexico City for pattern, materiality and mood inspiration. Complete with a flexible second level open air mezzanine, we wanted to accentuate the space with heavy patterns, bright finishes and finish it off with bright colors and fun artwork.
Large custom neon yellow bifold doors open up to a heavy patterned concrete tile floor. Inside, a mixture of yellow, blues and greens accent all walls complete with intimate backlighting. First level bar seating changes to lounge seating at the second level open air mezzanine, continuing with the same pattern floors from below. Mirrored walls and painted wood paneled ceilings accent the space and hand lettered mirror text complete this concept for a youthful and lively space.
Branding
For this co owned restaurant concept, we took hand drawn real life silhouettes of the business’ owners. Placed side by side and combined with a knockout family typeface, we created a solid brand, capable of being manipulated into several different collateral forms. We colored the brand in contrasting black and bright yellow colors which in turn, became the basis for our interior design color scheme. Duplicating the silhouettes in a diamond grid we formulated a pattern for multiple print and website uses.
