For this scratch kitchen concept, we wanted to bring the authenticity of the comfortable home kitchen to a multi-seat dining space. We looked to bring forth our version of the nostalgic items and finishes typically found in a kitchen and what makes this home communal gathering space the most important and beloved.
Using a mixture of natural and weathered woods, both in painted and untreated forms, mixed with clean finished walls and sealed concrete floors, we used this space as a canvas for a curation of nostalgic pieces similar to those found in an old kitchen. A direct nod to it’s cuisine, we filled the walls with vintage chicken illustrations and artifacts. Mixed style retro and rustic style seating mixed with floral pattern upholstered banquettes come together to bring you to a casual, feel-at-home environment.
Branding
For this concept, we wanted to create a brand with an updated handmade nostalgic feel that referenced vintage hand drafted illustrations and prints, while holding the concept’s deep southern roots tight. Monochrome hand lettering is mixed with a hand illustrated chicken icon and when used in digital and hand drafted applications hold two separate and individual lights.
